Brandon Gragg, CPA

A man lying on the kitchen floor resting his head on a large dog. The man wears glasses, a black cap, and a red shirt. The dog has a brown coat. Several cans and bags of cleaning products and fabric softener are on the floor behind them. Some of these products have red caps and labels with green and red instructions.

Brandon Gragg, CPA, is the founder of Gragg Accounting & Tax, a practice he started in 2012 and now leads full time. Over the years he has built an extensive business and individual client base across a range of industries, with a particular focus on aviation. A licensed pilot and FAA Certified Flight Instructor since 1995, Brandon brings something few accountants can offer: firsthand knowledge of how the aviation industry actually works, paired with deep technical expertise in tax and accounting.

Brandon’s career began in the air. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management with Flight Training from Florida Institute of Technology, he flew as a First Officer for ExpressJet Airlines. After 9/11, he decided to transition into an accounting career, earning a Master of Accountancy degree from Nova Southeastern University along with his CPA license. While in graduate school, he worked in public accounting as a business aviation consultant in Fort Lauderdale, advising on business aircraft tax, accounting, and flight operations.

Following a financial systems internship with The Walt Disney Company, Brandon spent more than eleven years at Verizon, rising from Accounting Analyst to Director of Accounting. He built expertise in fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, and compensation and benefits accounting, including nearly six years leading the fixed asset function as an Associate Director. He then served as a consultant for several major national flight schools and corporations, bringing his corporate finance experience back to the aviation world.

Today, Brandon is focused on growing Gragg Accounting & Tax and building a bridge between aviation and the tax and accounting profession. He helps aircraft owners, operators, and aviation businesses navigate the financial complexities unique to their industry, while continuing to serve clients across other sectors with the same care. Brandon has held his Florida CPA license since 2013 and is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the National Business Aircraft Association, and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
